4 Ways To Get Started With Email Marketing.

Email Marketing is very easy to start up,  as long as you know why you are sending the email.

Here are 4 ways to get you started:

1. Understand the goal of your email campaign: Before sending out your email campaigns you should ask yourself these three things:

a.  Why am I sending this email campaign?

b. What will I achieve when I send out the email campaign?

c. What action do you want your reader to take,  after reading the email campaign?

Understanding the goal of your email campaign helps you to achieve better results because you have a specific CTA you want your recipient to respond to. Emails with no specific CTAs make the reader confused.

Here are some reasons why we send out campaigns:

a. Brand awareness.

b. Get traffic to our website.

c. Increase revenue.

d. Feedback and surveys

e. Lead nurturing.

f. Boost brand engagement.

g. Establish brand authority.

When sending campaigns,  you can't just send all your goals in the same campaign, in each campaign you are sending should have a specific goal. The campaign for brand awareness is different from the campaigns sent for feedback and survey.  Let's be guided.

2. Define your email audience: After defining your goal when trying to send campaigns, the next question to ask yourself is who am I sending this email to?

You wouldn't send brand awareness campaigns to those who know about your brand already, you got to start sending marketing emails.  That's why segmenting your email list matters a lot. You can segment your subscribers based on their engagement, stage of buyers' journey, geographic region, gender, age, source, and many more.

Segment your list to get a better open and click rate.

3. Choose your email campaign type: Know the type of campaign you want to send out to achieve a specific goal.  The type of email campaign you send should depend on your goal and your defined audience.

Here are some types of email campaigns:

a.  Welcome email series campaigns

b. Cart abandonment campaigns

c.  Re-engagement email campaigns

d.  Announcement email campaigns

e. Promotional email campaigns

f. Newsletters

g. Holiday emails

h. Transactional email campaigns

i. Invitation emails

4. Send your campaigns at the right time: About 121 emails enter people's inboxes per day, so how can yours stand out irrespective of the busy schedule of the user? It's quite simple. You should understand the timing. We have two major people we send emails to (B2B and B2C). Send emails when your recipients are active, not asleep, and send emails during the day.

For a B2B:

Days of the week: Tuesday - Thursday

Best time: 11 am - 2 pm

In case you own an e-commerce store and you want them to purchase a product or service from you, you should send them only when you know their TARGET BUDGETS, unlike B2C which you send them at the end of the money. Understand their budget reviews, and when they would like to make expenses.

Time of the month: Target budget reviews.

For a B2C:

Days of the week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday (Variable).

Best time: End of the day; 7 pm - 9 pm

Time of the month: End of the month (when they get their payment).
